Meet Our Owners/Instructors
Flipsters was founded by two friends who wanted to see their children grow in a safe, encouraging and athletic atmosphere. We believe all children can enjoy themselves while they are developing important social and physical skills. We strive to provide a positive learning environment for your children, and our own, and teach them the amazing sport of gymnastics. We want them to develop body awareness, flexibility, strength and self-confidence, to name a few of our goals. We are so excited to be able to share our talents and love for gymnastics with you and your precious little "Flipsters". Please feel free to contact us with any comments or questions. We look forward to serving you and your children.
Mikel Williams was a gymnast for the better part of her life, training in Lexington, South Carolina. To put it briefly, she trained as a Level 10 gymnast for four years before earning the honor of attending The University of North Carolina to compete for the Tar Heels. She loved competing on all four events in Chapel Hill; vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. After college, she was an elementary school teacher and gymnastics coach in Atlanta, GA before moving to Seneca. She is thrilled beyond words to share her love for gymnastics with your children, and her own. She has a seven year old daughter and a three year old son. She currently lives in Athens, Georgia with her husband who works for the Bulldogs. She is in the gym as often as she can be to work with her "Flipsters".
Rachel Edwards was a cheerleader who spent her fair share of time in a gym growing up. After studying to become a teacher at Clemson University, she spent six years in the classroom as a first grade teacher. She then decided to pour all of her time and energy into raising her twins; a daughter and a son, who are now seven. She also has a second daughter who is four. She is so excited to put her knowledge as a teacher, mentor and motivator toward helping your children become the most successful little people and gymnasts they can possibly be. Look for her three little "Flipsters" running around the gym.
